Our mission is to work towards the end of domestic and sexual violence in Merrimack County. We do this through advocacy, empowerment, education and collaboration. Thrive Survivor Support Center (THRIVE) welcomes applicants for our Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator position. This position is the face of volunteer recruitment, recognition and retention and supports outreach and community partnership for the organization. Position Summary
The Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator is a public-facing role responsible for planning and delivering outreach and violence prevention education across Merrimack County, while also building and supporting a robust volunteer program. This dual-purpose position serves as a representative of the organization to community partners, schools, service providers, and volunteers and conducts proactive outreach and relationship building across the footprint.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Community Outreach & Education
- Work with Prevention Educator and Director of Programs and Partnerships, develop, and facilitate violence prevention and outreach education programs for law enforcement, schools, higher education institutions, and other community partners.
- Represent the organization at community events and community meetings to strengthen partnership and elevate Thrive’s role as a thought leader in Merrimack County.
- Work with Community Partnership Team and Development Director to coordinate annual outreach and awareness activities including Take Back the Night, Market Days, National Night Out and other community outreach.
- Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences, ensuring messages are engaging and culturally responsive.
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with law enforcement, nonprofits, service providers, and other stakeholders across Merrimack County.
- Manage data collection and reporting related to both volunteer and outreach and education efforts for grant compliance.
- Support social media, website, newsletter and other marketing activities for the agency.
Volunteer Coordination
- Collaborate with leadership to identify agency volunteer needs across departments (e.g., outreach, programs, fundraising).
- Expand and implement a comprehensive volunteer program that includes recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and recognition.
- Provide ongoing training and support to ensure volunteers are informed and engaged.
- Evaluate volunteer satisfaction and adjust programming to improve retention and impact.
Qualifications
- Passion for serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and/or human trafficking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 1-2 years of outreach and outward facing experience in a human service setting, education, and/or volunteer coordination is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and comfort with public speaking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet).
- Ability to manage data and track activities accurately for grant purposes.
- Ability to travel within Merrimack County and work occasional evenings/weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation is required for this role.
