About the Organization
Bike-Walk Alliance of New Hampshire is a statewide 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to educate advocate, and agitate to improve conditions for walking and biking across New Hampshire. We want more people out walking and biking more often, which contributes to a stronger economy, healthier people, a healthier environment, and stronger communities that interact more and provide access for people who do not drive.
About the Job
Summary: Responsible for a variety of activities related to daily operations of the Bike-Walk Alliance of New Hampshire, the statewide biking & walking advocacy organization, including managing the database of supporters (also known as our “membership” database), monitoring & responding to incoming physical mail, voice and email inquiries, and maintaining the office (cubicle) space at the Concord office location (2 Whitney Road, Concord). Some onsite (Concord office) work is required, such as checking physical mail delivery, however, a significant portion of the responsibilities can be accomplished either remotely, or at the Concord office (cubicle) space.
Required Skills: Proficiency with MA Office Tools such as Word, Excel. Familiarity with WordPress (web hosting), MailChimp, PayPal and or Square payment functions. Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently. Prior experience working with and for non-profit organizations. The ideal candidate has some level of biking advocacy background experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain BWANH office (cubicle) space at Concord Crossing
- If working remotely, visit BWA office weekly to pick-up mail and forward it to the appropriate persons or affiliate
- Keep track of BWANH equipment stored in office (cubicle) and in NSCNNE Storage area room (banners, signs, canopy, boxes of files, & other materials, etc)
- Retrieve and respond to all phone call messages in a timely manner (this can be done remotely).
- Manage Sponsor\Support Database (formerly “Memberships”)
- Maintain database (currently in SalesForce) of BWANH supporters by category: Individuals, Bike Shops, Businesses and Clubs/Organizations with date and amount of all donations
- Ensure that Thank-You e-mails or sometimes physical printed thank you letters are processed as soon as possible after donations are received (this is currently done using SalesForce)
- Monthly prepare annual Support Reminders via QuickBooks and/or PayPal
- Website Maintenance
- Perform basic edits to BWANH website (using Word Press) as necessary
• Board Support
- Assist with (review, comment on) monthly Board Meeting Agenda prep
- Attend monthly board meeting
- Assist Board members with special projects: surveys, legislative alerts, fundraising campaigns, “ACTION ALERTS”, etc.
- Have input to updating the Board Orientation Manual
• Event Support
- Assist with promotion of BWANH events such as Bikes & Beers, Bike Month, Bike raffles.
- Participate at BWANH events as needed
