Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- New Hampshire Educator Certification of Principal (0003)
- Master’s Degree in educational administration and/or equivalent as required for state certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of classroom experience and a minimum of three (3) full years completed as an administrator prior to the start of the school year after the hire date.
- Certified educators who have taught students regardless of the setting are considered to have classroom teaching experience
Summary:
To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Coordinates curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
- Develops annual school budget.
- Facilitates the scheduling of art, music, physical education, health education, library science, and any other school-based activities.
- Coordinates the activities of the school’s in-service training program.
- Monitors the athletic and intramural programs.
- Hires new staff as needed (preliminary screening, initial interviews by committee and Assistant Principal).
- Implements the teacher evaluation program.
- Staff Management and Development
- In cooperation with the appropriate Central Office Administrators, shall be responsible for organizing, planning and auditing the staff development program.
- Oversees the organization and implementation of all school systems and operations.
- Oversees the Special Education Program.
- Facility Maintenance and Management
- Health Care Administration
- Student Assignment Administration and Personnel Management
- Personal Professional Development
Supervisory Responsibilities – Required Special Qualifications: Supervises staff members designated by the Board of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and appropriate Central Office Administrators.
Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is an affiliated position as negotiated in the AMP contractual agreement.
Evaluation:
- Evaluation of this position shall be by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of administrative personnel.
- The principal shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent for. He/she shall also cooperate with all appropriate Central Office Administrators and Project and Program Directors and other administrative personnel.
Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is an affiliated contracted position as specified in the AMP Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Salary Range: Per AMP Contract - This is renewing on 7/1/24
