The role of Executive Director of Families Flourish Northeast is a unique opportunity to build a start-up non-profit organization from the ground up. The Executive Director will be intimately involved in building awareness of the organization and creating and maintaining relationships with community leaders, potential and existing donors, elected and government officials, the media and supporters as we prepare to break ground for the construction of our residential treatment facility in Lebanon, NH this fall and open our doors to residents by 2027.

Mission and Vision:

Our mission is to fill a critical gap by providing trauma-informed residential substance use disorder treatment for pregnant and parenting women in a warm, safe, and supportive community.

Our vision is to support lifelong health, healing, and recovery for women, children, families, and communities by interrupting the intergenerational cycle of addiction.


Position Summary:

The Executive Director leads Families Flourish Northeast, overseeing all aspects of its strategic direction and operations. This role requires a visionary leader who can build strong relationships, inspire staff and drive the organization's mission forward through organizational establishment and operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the organization that are aligned with its mission and goals.
  • Board Relations and Development: Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance and strategic direction. Support board committees and help identify potential committee and board members.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders to advance the organization's mission.
  • Fundraising: Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure funding for programs and operations.
  • External Relations: Represent the organization to the public, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial aspects of the organization, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
  • Program Development: Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the community.
  • Staff and Volunteer Management: Hire, train, and supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. 
  • Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. 

    Desired Qualifications: 

Education: Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., public health, social work, business administration).  

Experience: Comprehensive experience in non-profit management, with a strong track record of leadership and fundraising. Previous experience working with at-risk populations, substance-use recovery, and women and parenting. Clinical experience a plus.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and business skills. 

Knowledge: Understanding of strategic planning and goals implementation, community engagement, non-profit finance, and program evaluation. 

Additional Information:

  • The Executive Director reports directly to Families Flourish Northeast’s Board of Directors.
  • This position is salaried and will include daily work hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as necessary. The position will operate remotely, and hours can be flexible until the facility opens, but the Executive Director is expected to be available for in-person meetings throughout northern New England.
  • Travel throughout New England is to be expected.

Timeline
