About the Organization

The NH Bar Association (NHBA) is a statewide professional association that supports members of the legal profession and their service to the public and justice system. The NHBA is a unified bar association, meaning that bar association membership is mandatory for all those licensed to practice law in the State of New Hampshire. In addition to providing an array of services and benefits to its members, the NH Bar Association facilitates open and continuing dialogue among lawyers, the courts and other justice system stakeholders while acting as a resource for all those interested in advancing a just society.   NHBA administers NH Supreme Court Rule 53, NH Minimum Continuing Legal Education Requirement which requires active members of the NH Bar Association to participate in additional legal study throughout their careers.  The NH Bar Association also works to increase access to justice in New Hampshire through its Lawyer Referral and Law Related Education programs, as well as through its support of  NHBA’s charitable arm, the NH Bar Foundation.

New Hampshire Bar Association Executive Director Position

 

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The New Hampshire Bar Association, an 8,500+ member organization located in Concord, NH, seeks an executive director. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for oversight and management of all operations, programs, and services of the Bar Association and its affiliate, the New Hampshire Bar Foundation
  • Managing a multi-million-dollar budget
  • Managing a 30+ member staff and operations

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate preferred, but not required 
  • Alternatively, minimum of master’s degree in business administration, communications, public relations, public administration, or related field
  • Minimum five years of work experience focused on organizational management, legal administration, non-profit management, business, or membership services
  • Solid leadership and management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and collaborative skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Financial and budgetary knowledge

Salary/Benefits

The compensation for this position is a salary in the range of $125,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive employee benefits package.
