Description

Position Overview: 

The Community Outreach Specialist is a 20-hour a week grant-funded position that will provide energy and enthusiasm in both development and delivery of services for diverse families and communities statewide. 

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusively serving and working with communities and families from a diversity of background and experiences, and sensitivity needed to work respectfully across differences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Zoom
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines

Essential functions:

  • Outreach/Expand connections to agencies and organizations that serve diverse populations
  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with families, schools, community organizations and other stakeholders
  • Assist families and others through telephone consultation and emails
  • Review training curricula and materials for reading level and relevance to diverse populations
  • Work collaboratively with diverse communities to assess on-going needs
  • Conduct training sessions virtually and in-person
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired experience required to ensure success in this position:

  • Lived experience as a family member navigating the systems which provide information, support, and assistance to the families of New Hampshire
  • Fluency in a language other than English commonly spoken in NH (Spanish, French, Nepali, Arabic, and/or Swahili)

License, certifications necessary 

  • Valid drivers’ license 
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background check

Typical Work Schedule: 

This position is a hybrid (remote and in-office) position located in Concord, NH but travel independently by personal vehicle throughout the state is required. This position is a twelve-month, 20-hour position with flexibility based on families’ needs, events, and meetings. 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Human Services, or related field preferred
