About the Job

Description

Hope on Haven Hill a substance use treatment facility in Rochester, NH, is seeking an Addiction Counselor/Clinician to join its team.

Duties include: providing individual, group and family counseling to clients in any/all HHH programs (residential, IOP, OP, etc.) with an emphasis on providing Trauma-Informed Care and Gender Responsive Treatment. The Addiction Counselor/Clinician is directly supervised by the Clinical Director and will assist in the day-to-day operations and management.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services such as intake/diagnostic evaluations, case evaluations, and crisis interventions for HHH program clients
  • Provide individual and group counseling to women participating in the program with an emphasis on relapse prevention and healthy coping skills
  • Facilitate family meetings and oversee visitations with family members.
  • Encourage and support parent involvement and participation per program guidelines.
  • Help mothers learn healthy parenting skills that will assist them in their everyday life.
  • Recognizes resident’s rights and responsibilities, including resident’s right of privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

  • Seek out and participate in opportunities for growth by attending professional training conferences/workshops as directed by your supervisor and in accordance with licensure guidelines.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and actively participate to improve positive resident outcomes.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job responsibilities.
  • Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure.
  • Supports risk management and participates in programs concerning resident and staff safety.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to ensure access to resources for clients.
  • Retain working relationships with organizations, service providers, and other agencies.
  • Maintain a high level of professional and ethical standards.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Will participate in on call rotation every few weeks.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health and/or Addiction Counseling with ability to work towards clinical licensure.
  • Independent worker and self-starter.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with alcohol and/or drug addicted individuals and/or in the field of substance abuse counseling.
  • Experience with diverse client population such as cultural and/or religious minorities, co-occurring disorders and indigent socio-economically disadvantaged clients
  • Significant experience and familiarity with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in conjunction with treatment programs and with 12-step philosophy as well as other non-traditional self-help treatment programs
  • Knowledge of 12 core functions
  • Knowledge of Evidence Based Practices (EBP), Addiction Severity Index (ASI), and ASAM Criteria.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively and timely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully; excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in excellent customer service.
  • Ability to provide input on the creation of new systems and efficiencies.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • If in recovery, provide evidence of personal stability as well as adhering to all HHH policies and procedures as it relates to recovery.
  • Confidentiality and knowledge of 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and HIPAA.

Other Requirements/Information:

  • Full time exempt position.
  • LICSW, LCMHC, MLADC, LADC certification/Master’s Degree in counseling, clinical psychology, or related field strongly preferred
  • Position based in Rochester, NH
