Trends in Institutional Philanthropy in NH

A Conversation with the NH Funders Forum

The New Hampshire Funders Forum invites the nonprofit community to engage in a dialogue about how NH's grant making institutions can evolve to try and better serve the Granite State.

Learn about the NH Funders Forum and hear about broader trends in philanthropy that Forum participants have explored to deepen their knowledge of forward-looking approaches to institutional grantmaking. Funders are rethinking their role in society with trends such as increasing transparency, engaging community voices, sharing power, and serving as catalysts with other partners to enhance their impact.

Share your thoughts and questions about how to improve this segment of NH philanthropy. What themes and issues are common among funders and nonprofit leaders? Hear highlights from a 2023 baseline report on institutional grantmaking to NH nonprofits completed by the UNH Carsey School of Public Policy and obtain the NH Funders Forum Directory for 2024 which provides profiles of select grantmakers.

About the NH Funders Forum

The New Hampshire Funders Forum is a group of foundation leaders representing private and quasi-public philanthropic institutions whose assets are invested to benefit New Hampshire citizens. Participants meet regularly to build relationships with one another, learn about evolving trends in philanthropy and New Hampshire issues, and to explore opportunities for collaborative funding and action. Funders include private foundations, corporate funders, family foundations, and grantmaking public charities that also manage donor advised funds.
