CDL Driver/Warehouse Associate

Catholic Charities New Hampshire provides human services to the poor and vulnerable throughout the state.  Trinity Health Partners Nursing Facilities, The New Hampshire Food Bank, Counseling, Community Outreach and advocacy, OUR PLACE, St. Charles Children’s Home are core programs of the agency.  Impacting over 1:13 people a year, Catholic Charities New Hampshire serves those in need regardless of creed.


The New Hampshire Food Bank is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Part Time or Per Diem CDL Driver/Warehouse Associate. The person in this position will safely transport product, maintain vehicle and driver logs, assist warehouse staff, and support the Food Bank at events when required. This position must adhere to all Food Bank safety policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CDL Class “B” New Hampshire Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Two years of commercial driving experience and 1 year working in a warehouse environment
  • Experience with operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work with professional and non-professional individuals of varied backgrounds, be flexible and have personal integrity.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with the general public
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. 
  • Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or stress
  • Good oral and written communication abilities
  • Well organized, cooperative, and willing to assist others.

 

Physical Demands

  • Due to the physical nature of the position, applicants must be capable of working on their feet performing repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
  • Candidates need to be able to exert up to 34 pounds of force occasionally      
Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for the transportation of food and food products
  • Support the Food Bank as directed by the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Safely operate NHFB vehicles, obeying all DOT and DMV rules and regulations
  • Maintain vehicle and driver logs
  • Load and unload trucks as required
  • Pick up and deliver food and food products as scheduled
  • Prepare orders for delivery to agencies through order selection/staging
  • Maintain warehouse equipment and trucks in accordance with Food Bank procedures
  • Performs warehouse sanitation as directed by the Warehouse Manager
  • Record incoming and outgoing product as directed by the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • Provide supervision to volunteers and community service workers as needed
  • Support the Food Bank at functions as required; to include some nights and weekends
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with company personnel, management, and outside business/public relationships
  • As needed, work special events, such as food shows and fund raising initiatives
