Urgent Care Manager

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Manager to join our talented Psychiatric Emergency Services department.
 
As Riverbend’s Urgent Care Manager of Psychiatric Emergency Services, you will be responsible for the operation of urgent care services including fiscal accountability, risk management, staff supervision, provision of clinical care, and participation in short and long-range planning of services to meet the needs of the community.

Requirements:
  • License eligible Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field is required
  • Current NH license or ability to be licensed as a mental health provider by the NH Board of Mental Health Practice is required.
  • Training in crisis intervention services, risk management, assessment of suicide potential and integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mental health service provision, including 3 years in providing crisis emergency services in hospital/mobile settings is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle or access to a reasonable alternative is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that assessments reflect relevant developmental, cultural and family systems issues, and that diagnoses are consistent with DSM 5 criteria.
  • Oversee the development of clinical formulations to ensure that they are accurate, well conceptualized, clear, concise and supported by related assessments.
  • Ensure treatment provided by the program is consistent with client’s individual needs and generally accepted standards of care and/or evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure that clinical assessments and risk assessments are conducted thoroughly.
  • Work with first responders, police, community treatment providers, and the integrated delivery network to maximize collaboration for clients.
  • Provide training and quality assurance oversight to staff for psycho-social assessments, clinical formulations, lethality assessments, risk management, documentation and treatment planning.
  • Participate in program outcome and evaluation studies.
  • Monitor adherence to accountabilities of program and work collaboratively with other managers to collect and analyze data.
  • Support the provision of substance abuse assessments by qualified providers.
  • Establish performance standards and quality of care indices.
  • Schedule staff to cover the 24/7 needs of the program.
  • Participate in budgeting process; use financial reports to monitor performance.
  • Provide feedback and timely performance appraisals to staff, and provide work assignments to encourage growth and career development. 
  • Delegate effectively, monitor workloads and hold staff accountable.
  • Recruits, hires, orients, trains, disciplines, and terminates staff in consult with management and Human Resources.
