Residential Counselor

Riverbend Community Mental Health

Founded in 1963, Riverbend Community Mental Health is a private, nonprofit organization providing specialized behavioral health services in central New Hampshire. Core services include 24/7 emergency mobile crisis services; counseling services for children, adults, and families; addiction treatment; and community support, vocational services, and residential programs for adults and seniors. Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Residential Counselor to work in our Residential Programas a support person and counselor for 1st and 2nd shift coverage.  The schedule is 3PM to 11PM Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 11AM to 7PM on Saturday and Sunday.  
 
As a Residential Counselor, you’ll be responsible for providing services and support to individuals living with mental illness, assisting them in their recovery, and helping them attain the goals they have set for themselves. If you are flexible — and possess excellent administrative and counseling skills — this could be a great opportunity!

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation, education, or human services is required.
  • One year of related work experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, and some holidays is required.
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle with auto insurance or access to a reasonable alternative is required.
  • CPR certification, or willingness to become certified is required.
  • MOAB (crisis management) certification, or willingness to become certified is required.
  • He-M 1202 (medication management) certification, or willingness to become certified is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in routine residential operations, including meals and housekeeping
  • Assist in managing activities and services
  • Support clients in reaching their goals
  • Ensure the safety of residents and other staff
