Our team is looking for a talented per diem or part-time optometrists to help us grow our practice in Manchester, New Hampshire.  Work 30 – 60 hours per month and enjoy the benefits of a flexible work schedule!

I.  Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Eye Care clinic, the Optometrist will supervise clinic staff and two fourth year MCHPHS optemetry students. In addition, s/he will
• Provide comprehensive, culturally competent eye care services (primary eye care, binocular vision, ocular disease, contact lens, etc.) to patients five years and up.
• Perform all administrative components of patient care management, including timely completion of progress notes, consults, referrals, coding and encounters for all patient care activitiesSupervise two fourth year MCHPHS optometry students

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The assigned duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide excellent customer service to all patients and staff in a multi-cultural setting
• Provide excellence in eye care that meets the standard of care
• Maintain open lines of communication with staff and administration
• Must be flexible and adaptable based on practice requirement
• All other duties as assigned and needed

III. Knowledge
The Optometrist must be knowledgeable in primary care optometry, ocular disease management and contact lens care.  The Optometrist must understand billing and coding requirements for eye care. The Optometrist must possess strong decision-making skills, highly effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.  The Optometrist must be proficient with computers, information systems and have experience working in an EHR environment.

IV. Education and Experience
This position requires a doctorate in optometry (O.D.) from an accredited school or college of optometry, and a current license to practice Optometry in New Hampshire. The Optometrist must be eligible for Optometric Professional Liability Insurance and eligible to be a Medicare billing provider. Residency training or 2-3 years’ experience required.
