ProPublica, an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest, has announced the launch of Nonprofit Explorer. This online tool for researching tax-exempt organizations includes nonprofit tax return data released by the IRS in April 2013 for tax returns processed by the IRS during 2012. This generally consists of filings for the 2011 fiscal year, but may include older records.

A collaboration between donor-advised fund sponsors and nonprofit organizations, led by Fidelity Charitable®, has created a new web application (widget) that helps nonprofit organizations simplify charitable giving and tap into the growing popularity of donor-advised funds (DAFs). The DAF Direct widget is the first technology that enables donors to initiate a grant recommendation from their charitable account with their donor-advised fund sponsor while on a nonprofit’s website.

In the Nonprofit Finance Fund 2013 State of the Sector Survey, nearly 6000 nonprofits respondents from across the country shared the details of how they are adapting their organizations and finances to current economic conditions. Portsmouth – The Foundation for Seacoast Health has granted $317,600 to Families First Health and Support Center, the Seacoast’s community health center. The grant will support general operations – including health, dental and family programs – and special projects such as bi-monthly luncheons for seniors held at the Community Campus, cervical cancer screenings, and a group to help families improve their diet and exercise habits.

Keene – The first Report Breakfast for the 2013-2013 Monadnock United Way (MUW) campaign was held on Wednesday, September 26th at Stone Arch Village in Keene.
