Description

We are looking for a highly adaptable, dynamic, resourceful, empathetic, kind, and driven candidate who has enthusiasm for managing and helping people, as well as expertise in scaling programs to meet organizational and client needs.  The Volunteer Program Manager will support and grow the Future In Sight volunteer program and our volunteer network.  They will recruit, train, evaluate, maintain, and recognize a vital volunteer program to include individual and group volunteers. 

Future In Sight is the only private nonprofit organization in New Hampshire to supply a comprehensive   range of statewide services to children, adults and the elderly who are blind and visually impaired.  The Volunteer Program matches clients to qualified volunteers who can provide transportation to essential appointments, companionship, and assistance with reading, completing paperwork, going on walks, shopping, or other tasks as needed. 

JOB DUTIES:

Under direction of the Director of Program Services, the Volunteer Program Manager will --

  • Develop, maintain, and grow Future In Sight (FIS) volunteer base through outreach to a variety of sources including individuals, community-based organizations and groups, colleges/universities, and corporations as needed.
  • Recruit volunteers through social media, job boards, in-person events, one-on-one meetings, and community outreach activities
  • Work with FIS management and staff to assess organizational needs and match with the interest and skills of volunteer staffing.
  • Manages recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure appropriate assignment.
  • Schedules volunteers into shift work and for FIS events, based on departmental needs and organizational priorities.
  • Maintain volunteer database to track volunteer activities, client needs, and volunteer performance, availability and scheduling through Salesforce and RideScheduler.
  • Develop and formalize volunteer program policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage with volunteers often, providing guidance and feedback, to insure a positive experience for the volunteer, client, and organization.
  • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation, recognition, and training activities.
  • Identify high profile volunteers and make connections with the development team.
  • Identify potential funding sources for the Volunteer Program
  • Refines and manages comprehensive orientation process for new volunteers.
  • Reports monthly statistics and provide accurate and timely volunteer data as required.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience with at least three years of experience in at least people and project management, supervision, program coordination and evaluation, recruitment, and database management.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of collaborative work, building positive and effective relationships with individuals, businesses, and community service organizations, and recruiting, screening, and training staff. 
  • Knowledge of the methods related to the conduct of volunteer programs for nonprofit organizations is a plus. 
  • Ability to communicate, motivate, lead, and relate effectively to a wide variety of individuals. 
  • Expertise in written and oral communication as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Office and email communication is essential.   
  • Experience working with volunteers, community engagement, and coaching desired.

SCHEDULE:

Regular office hours are 8:00am-4.00pm Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary week to week due to activities, events, and the general nature of the work. Additional hours, including evenings and weekends, are required periodically. Some travel within State is required with generous mileage reimbursement. Future In Sight HQ is located at 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Compensation is commensurate with experience.  Future In Sight offers a generous benefits package including four weeks of vacation plus additional personal and sick days, comprehensive health benefits with 90% of the medical premium covered by Future In Sight, and a 503(b) program with 5% company match.
