About the Organization

The Kingswood Youth Center (KYC) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization governed by a board of directors.  The mission of the Kingswood Youth Center is to provide a safe and positive environment in which youth may grow, learn and develop life skills critical to their success in the adult world. The KYC does this by providing a variety of programs for youth, ages 12 to 18, in the Governor Wentworth School District of New Hampshire. KYC programs include a daily afterschool program, BTAS! (beyond the afterschool) programs offered on evenings, weekends, and vacations, a full schedule of summer programs, and an individual mentoring program titled, Club 121. All services are free of charge.  A hot meal is served along with a variety of recreational and enrichment activities at the 3000 square foot facility that sits on five acres of land in Wolfeboro.  KYC programs offer experiential learning, community interaction, leadership, recreation, and fun!  KYC collaborates with other agencies to provide members with additional resources when needed.  KYC is recognized as an integral part of the community and receives annual support from the schools and the towns in the district. Most of the youth attending the KYC reside at or below the poverty level and are facing challenging life circumstances.
