Description

The Program Assistant provides administrative and operations support at the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, a nonprofit with a mission to promote and defend the First Amendment and foster interest, integrity and excellence in journalism and other forms of communication by educating students of various ages and providing them with the tools and knowledge to improve their skill. 

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the School, its classes, workshops, and events. Success in this role demands strong writing skills, exceptional communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to the School's mission and educational objectives. 

This is a part-time position (12 to 15 hours per week) at $20 an hour, with a flexible, hybrid schedule. Onsite work takes place at the Nackey S. Loeb School, located at the NH Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. 

Essential duties:  

  • Provide operational support; maintain class schedules, records, and participant and instructor databases
  • Assist with scheduling and hosting in-person and online (Zoom) classes and workshops - this includes evenings as needed with advanced notice
  • Respond to inquiries from students, instructors, donors, and community partners; manage communications and prepare written materials  
  • Assist with the planning and execution of program classes, workshops, and events  
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional print and digital materials  
  • Help update and maintain website content; assist with social media and email marketing
  • Maintain, donor and vendor information, recognition, and invoicing
  • Provide support at School events and activities (in person and online) 

Required skills and qualifications: 

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Google Suite, data entry and database management
  • Experience with Squarespace, Zoom, Canva, and social media platforms strongly preferred
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to anticipate needs and be highly responsive
  • Enthusiasm, positive attitude, and sense of humor 

Education and experience:

 Associate’s degree with a minimum of two to three years of experience in nonprofit, administration, or customer service field.
