Job Title: Early Care & Education (ECE) Professional Development (PD)Supervisor
Program/Dept: Early Care and Education
Reports To: Data and Quality Improvement Manager
FLSA Status: Regular/Full-Time/non-exempt
Probationary Period: Ninety (90) days
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week (8:00am-4:30pm with flexibility to meet needs of classrooms)
Salary Range: Updated Annually

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The ECE PD Supervisor is an integral part of the Early Care and Education Team. Under the supervision of the Data and Quality Improvement Manager, the ECE PD Supervisor leads the implementation of the Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) model across the Head Start/Early Head Start program. This role ensures that coaching practices align with Head Start Program Performance Standards, support continuous professional development, and promote positive child outcomes. The ECE PD Supervisor supervises a team of PBC coaches, collaborates with education staff, and works closely with Education Managers to ensure coaching fidelity, quality, and effectiveness. This role will also provide direct support to classrooms as a Practice-based Coach.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field – Knowledge of  PBC, adult learning theory and reflective supervision, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in ECE, including 2+ years of experience in supervision, mentoring and/or coaching.
  • Experience leading/supervising a team.
  • Demonstrate ability to build supportive, collaborative relationships.
  • Working knowledge of childcare licensing and Head Start Performance Standards preferred.
  • Must be trained in PBC within 60 days of employment.
  • CLASS/TPOT and TPITOS reliable within 90 days of hire.
  • Proficiency with data systems (e.g. Child Plus, TSG)
  • Proficient computer literacy including: Excel, Word, and Outlook.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Practice-Based Coaching system for center-based classrooms.
  • Provide direct Practice-based Coaching for three to five Educators.
  • Provide direct supervision and ongoing support to PBC coaches, including training, goal-setting, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure coaching aligns with Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF), and program school readiness goals.
  • Collaborate with Education Managers to facilitate regular training and professional learning communities (PLCs) for coaches and education staff.
  • Support coaches in developing collaborative, individualized coaching plans for teachers.
  • Monitor coaching logs, fidelity checklists, and data to ensure consistent, high-quality coaching delivery.
  • Collaborate with Education Managers and Family and Community Engagement Manager to align coaching with broader child development and family engagement strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between coaches and program leadership to communicate coaching outcomes, trends, and staff needs.
  • Represent the program in local, state, or national coaching networks or communities of practice, as appropriate.
  • Use ongoing assessment and evaluation data to guide coaching priorities and professional development planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to program reports, including those for the Office of Head Start and funding agencies.
  • Analyze CLASS, TS GOLD, and other data to identify coaching priorities and assess progress toward school readiness goals.
  • Prepare annual evaluation for Practice-based Coaches
  • Attend all meetings and/or conferences as assigned (community, state, regional, and national).
  • Other duties / special projects as may be assigned.
