LRCS is one of 10 designated Area Agencies in New Hampshire that provides community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders, and their families. NH’s Area Agency system serves in excess of 10,000 individuals and families. The region encompasses Belknap County and southern Grafton County. The 24 communities served by LRCS are: Alexandria, Alton, Ashland, Barnstead, Belmont, Bridgewater, Bristol, Campton, Center Harbor, Ellsworth, Gilford, Gilmanton, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Laconia, Meredith, New Hampton, Plymouth, Rumney, Sanbornton, Thornton, Tilton and Wentworth.
About the Job
Lakes Region Community Services (LRCS) is seeking a strategic leader to serve as its next President & CEO. This role is responsible for the overall administration, financial health, and operational excellence of the organization with a focus on the advancement of LRCS’s mission. The CEO will work closely with the LRCS Board of Directors and staff to ensure delivery of high-quality services that promote the health and well-being of individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization in alignment with its mission and strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (RSA 171-A, He-M 505).
- Oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide fiscal oversight and manage budgets in collaboration with finance teams.
- Hire, evaluate, and support staff development and retention.
- Represent LRCS at local, state, and federal levels.
- Pursue funding opportunities and partnerships to expand services.
- Collaborate with affiliate boards and management teams.
- Report regularly to the LRCS Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in social work, education, psychology, sociology, administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in human services.
- At least 2 years of experience in developmental disabilities (may overlap with management experience).
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit administration, planning, and community networking.
- Proven ability to work with volunteer boards and diverse teams.
- Experience in fiscal management and employee relations.
- Familiarity with New Hampshire’s Organized Healthcare Delivery System, otherwise known as the “Area Agency System” or the “Developmental Disabilities System.”
- Understanding New Hampshire’s legislative and political processes is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Valid NH driver’s license (or equivalent with discussion for out-of-state applicants).
- NH resident or commitment to relocate to NH.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must pass background checks with no disqualifying convictions.
- Ability to work on-site with occasional travel. This is not a remote position.
- Ability to perform office-based work with frequent sitting, standing, and use of standard office equipment.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive compensation package, with an annual salary range of $182,000-$204,000, and generous benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
