Job Summary

This position provides in-person services to the Bethlehem, NH, program for 18-20 hours per week. 

The Peer Support Recovery Specialist in Bethlehem, NH, provides recovery support to transitional housing participants recovering from mental health, substance use, and/or co-occurring disorders. These Participants are individuals who are voluntarily transferred from an inpatient mental health facility with high acuity. Peer Support Recovery Specialist works to build recovery capital with transitional housing participants, connecting them with recovery community organizations, peer support agencies, and support networks. Peer Support Recovery Specialist serves as a role model and mentor to participants within the Transitional Housing Services (THS) Program. The peer support recovery specialist will provide one-on-one coaching sessions with participants. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the facilitation of skills groups for participants in the Transitional Housing Program.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to participants in the transitional housing program.
  • Facilitate skills groups for the participants in the transitional housing program.
  • Provide day-to-day tangible support, including mentoring, role modeling, and recovery education to residents in the THS Programs.
  • Must be open to all pathways of recovery, including mutual aid meetings, medication-assisted recovery, and harm reduction.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain available and reliable transportation and auto insurance coverage required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Having a personal lived experience of mental health and/or substance use disorder.
  • 3 current years of uninterrupted recovery from mental health and/or addiction recovery.
  • Must be eligible for Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) with the State of New Hampshire.
  • Must be eligible for Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) by the State of New Hampshire.
  • 3 Years of experience working in the mental health/substance use system of care preferred.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Understanding of Crisis intervention.
