Job Description
Overview: Promote and build the peer support program/transport members to and from the agency.
Reports to: Executive Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Raise awareness about peer support by conducting outreach, building membership, developing new programs;
- Welcome new members, participants and guests;
- Develop, facilitate and monitor daily educational groups, workshops and peer support groups;
- Model the values of Infinity Peer Support as a peer support agency by seeking peer input regarding all aspects of the program;
- Learn, model and teach Intentional Peer Support (IPS) and values;
- Learn, model and teach Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP);
- Schedule monthly educational events in tandem with the Director of Operations on topics of interest to members and participants of the program;
- Compile information for the monthly calendar and newsletter with the Director of Operations, then email to members and organizations;
- Develop and support leadership among all members, participants, guests and staff;
- Attend regional planning meetings in Strafford County, as well as other meetings as decided by the Executive Director;
- Meet with the Executive Director for weekly supervision, attend;
- Participate in staff meetings;
- Maintain excellent working relationships and communications with members, Executive Director, Director of Operations, staff and the Board of Directors;
- Maintain information for daily statistics and work on quarterly statistics for the Bureau of Mental Health Services (BMHS);
- Understand and demonstrate effective self-care;
- Manage your own wellness;
- Hiring is subject to a criminal background check;
- Attend trainings designated by the BMHS contract and assigned by the Executive Director;
- Understand and demonstrate healthy boundaries incorporating peer support values;
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director on public awareness via all media forms;
- Maintain relationships with other organizations as well as other local and state agencies;
- Submit your personal time sheet to the Executive Director every other Friday;
- Perform other duties as needed by Infinity Peer Support (duties are subject to change);
- Coordinate and drive van to pick up members throughout Strafford County and
- Get and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills:
- Basic computer skills,
- Good interpersonal skills and
- Good written, verbal and public-speaking skills.
Education/Training: At a minimum, a high school diploma. College is beneficial. Life experiences and other trainings may be substituted for formal education.
