Youth (ages 11-19) placed at the Chase Home participate in a community-based program that works with the youth and their families to stabilize and resolve at-risk behaviors and to meet their permanency goals.The Chase Home for Children is dedicated to providing supportive and restorative residential and family services to at-risk youth in a safe and nurtuing environment.

General Summary

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the food service program at the Chase Home supporting the young people who reside at the program. The Kitchen Manager ensures the implementation of all policies, procedures, and food service initiatives related to the day to day kitchen operations in relation to food service and delivery at the Chase Home
Essential Job Functions - Kitchen Manager
- Plan weekly / monthly menus
- Maintain monthly inventory of all food and non-food items pertaining to food service
- Prepare and serve nutritional meals and snacks as indicated from monthly menus
- Assist in supervising residents during meal times and meal clean up as requested by residential staff
- Order all food and non-food items for routine menus and special occasions / events / resident birthdays
- Prepare and serve food for any special events, Holiday Open House, End of School BBQ etc.
- Ensure that the sharps are maintained and signed off on during your shift
- Ensure that all sanitation policies and procedures are followed by personnel serving / handling food and that all food preparation areas and serving equipment are sanitized
- Ensure that all food orders are completed monthly based on monthly menu
- Ensure that any special dietary needs for residents are met
- When not on shift the Kitchen Manager is responsible for communicating with the direct care staff for prepped meals, meal service, and location of needed food items to serve the meals and snacks at the appropriate time
- Participate in training new staff as directed by supervisor
- Participate in management team meetings as directed
- Develop staff training and program development in conjunction with management team
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisors
Position Requirements - Kitchen Manager
- Minimum 2 years food service management experience
- Strong Leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of adolescent issues and ability to articulate those issues to staff
- Demonstrated commitment to youth and families
- Strong written/verbal communication and computer skills
- Self reliant, flexible and punctual
- Ability to function as a team member within the management framework
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Valid Driver's License
