About the Organization

The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing guardianship and other fiduciary services to legally incapacitated individuals in New Hampshire.  OPG has 40 years of experience serving as guardian of the person and guardian of the estate for individuals living with intellectual disabilities, mental illness, progressive cognitive loss due to dementia or other neurological disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.  The staff of approximately 50 committed professionals work under the supervision of an experienced management team including an Executive Director, Director of Legal Services, Director of Finance, Director of Fiduciary Services and Director of Guardianship.

About the Job

Description

The Office of Public Guardian (OPG) is seeking a full time professional guardian. OPG  is a non-profit organization providing guardianship services throughout New Hampshire. 

Responsibilities include medical, residential and treatment decision-making and legal advocacy for incapacitated adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and/or neurocognitive impairment. 

Qualifications include graduate degree in social work, law, medicine or human services, with a minimum of 3 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience. In depth knowledge of New Hampshire’s community mental health, developmental services, and/or criminal justice systems preferred. 

This is a hybrid position, typically working 1-2 days/week in our Concord office, with remainder of time spent working from home and traveling to attend meetings in the community. Requires the ability to work autonomously and manage a large and diverse caseload. OPG offers a collegial professional work environment with strong team support.
