LRCS is one of 10 designated Area Agencies in New Hampshire that provides community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders, and their families. NH’s Area Agency system serves in excess of 10,000 individuals and families. The region encompasses Belknap County and southern Grafton County. The 24 communities served by LRCS are: Alexandria, Alton, Ashland, Barnstead, Belmont, Bridgewater, Bristol, Campton, Center Harbor, Ellsworth, Gilford, Gilmanton, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Laconia, Meredith, New Hampton, Plymouth, Rumney, Sanbornton, Thornton, Tilton and Wentworth.
About the Job
Lakes Region Community Services (LRCS) is looking for a Financial Controller to join our team!
The Financial Controller performs financial and accounting operations of Lakes Region Community Services (LRCS) and its affiliates as directed by the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) including but not limited to:
- Prepares, reviews and distributes monthly operating statements to authorized personnel and third parties.
- Prepares financial reports for the Agency and its affiliates. Oversee the preparation of general ledger entries by finance department staff.
- Supervises the preparation of specified monthly general ledger account reconciliation’s and reviews all reconciliation’s prepared by others.
- Identifies, analyzes and reports to the CFO and department heads on variances to budgets and other significant financial events.
- Monitors internal control procedures regularly and conducts internal audit functions as directed.
- Maintains Chart of Accounts.
The Financial Controller also supervises the staff in the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Staff Accountant, Accounting Assistant and other temporary or regular employees as determined by the CFO.
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business management and at least 5 years experience, MBA preferred
- Must be extremely knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Financial Accounting as they apply to the nonprofit sector.
