This is a full-time, salaried position and will be responsible for coordinating and carrying out the facilities and
maintenance of Center for Wildlife’s growing campus.
Center for Wildlife is a 501c3 non-profit organization with no state or federal funding that was founded in 1986. Today, our facilities and campus includes public education areas, intern housing, office space, wildlife veterinary clinic, nature center with exhibits, pollinator gardens and native
landscaping, along with 40 outdoor enclosures for recovering wildlife and those that live in sanctuary with us due to permanent injury. Located at the base of Mount Agamenticus and surrounded by 16,000 acres of trails and conservation land, Center for Wildlife is one of the only of its kind in
Northern New England, and the ideal place to connect community members of all ages to wildlife and ecology.

Position Description: Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator
Status: Full-time Salary
Reports To: Medical Clinic and Operations Director and Executive Director
POSITION PURPOSE
The Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator (FMC) is responsible for managing and implementing the maintenance and repair schedule of the facility and its campus. This includes scheduling and coordinating vendors, facilitating annual inspections, maintaining accurate records, performing grounds care, organizing and coordinating facilities and gardening volunteers and workdays, along with maintaining and repairing CFW vehicles and equipment. The FMC also performs maintenance and repairs, along with seasonal inspections for patient and ambassador enclosures and exhibits. This position must work within set budgets, meet deadlines, communicate pro-actively across departments and report out on anticipated maintenance expenses.
I. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Priority Weight Assigned
1. Major Systems & Main Building: 40%
a. Coordinate and perform annual maintenance with approved vendors
b. Perform or coordinate contractors for repairs and maintain certificate of insurance and service contracts
c. Maintain vendor contact and building maintenance spreadsheet
d. Assist with upgrades in furnishings, husbandry and equipment
e. Coordinate inspections, compliance and preventative maintenance of all building systems (HVAC, septic, plumbing, water, elevator, sprinkler, solar)
f. Maintain all tools, small engine equipment, and vehicle fleet
g. Available on-call in the event of an emergency
h. Maintain building supply for all custodial services
2. Outdoor Campus & Gardens 30%
a. General maintenance of campus and gardens to include mowing, weed-whacking, weeding, planting, watering, trail and boardwalk maintenance, and snow removal
b. Assist in managing volunteer workday projects in conjunction with program staff
c. Oversee plowing and sanding contractor
d. General maintenance of public spaces, gates, fencing and all pathways
e. Maintain care of seasonal seating and exhibits (ie: picnic tables, hammocks, lighting, etc)
f. Perform or help coordinate vendors for general exhibit installation and maintenance
3. Patient & Ambassador Enclosures 30%
a. Perform or assist with materials and vendor management on repairs
b. Participate in vetting and pricing for grant/funding opportunities
c. Perform spring and fall inspections and repairs
d. Build custom patient and ambassador features including ramps, ladders, and perches
e. Assist the Executive Director with municipal boards and offices to secure permits for new projects
II. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

a. Experience maintaining commercial mechanical systems (HVAC, generators, security, water & sprinkler systems, electrical and elevator)
b. Experience with monitoring and maintaining solar array
c. Facilitating communication across diversity of trades and organizational staff
d. Managing multiple projects simultaneously
e. Carpentry and small engine repair experience
f. Strong organizational and time management skills
g. Superior interpersonal and communication skills
h. Experience utilizing appropriate PPE and Safety precautions
i. Willingness to learn the nuances of CFW’s work, messaging, and captive wildlife building and husbandry
j. Lift and carry up to 50lbs and work in all weather conditions
k. Able to bend, twist, reach, climb ladders, and stand for several hours
l. Comfortable working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids and paints
III. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
a. Basic knowledge of native species and their natural histories
b. Experience working with and managing volunteers
c. Experience building and maintaining animal enclosures
d. Previous experience working for a non-profit organization
e. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
f. Proficient in safely using hand and power tools
IV. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma, or equivalent, and two years of experience with property management or facilities coordination.
