About the Organization
Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP) is the domestic and sexual violence and stalking crisis center for the 44 towns of the Monadnock region. MCVP is a member program of the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and a Monadnock United Way agency.
MCVP’s mission is to respond to domestic & sexual violence & stalking in our community by providing a care & support system for survivors and to work to end interpersonal violence in all forms through primary prevention, community engagement & collaboration.

Job Title: Development & Communications Director

Salary Range: $55,000-$75,000
Position Summary
The Development & Communications Director is a key member of MCVP’s leadership team, responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive strategies that grow and sustain our fundraising, communications, and public engagement efforts. This position plays a critical role in increasing donor support, elevating community awareness, and advancing the mission of ending interpersonal violence through prevention, advocacy, and education.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Relations
- Develop and execute fundraising plan, including major gifts, annual giving, grant funding, and campaigns/events.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners.
- Lead grant proposal development and reporting in partnership with key staff.
- Oversee and maintain the donor database ensuring accurate gift tracking, donor segmentation, and timely acknowledgments.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board on fundraising efforts.
Communications and Public Engagement
- Lead a strategic communications plan that supports development goals, elevates MCVP’s public profile, and strengthens community partnerships.
- Create compelling content for digital and print communications, including newsletters, website, social media, press releases, appeals, annual reports, and educational campaigns.
- Serve as the primary media contact and represent MCVP with key stakeholders.
- Ensure all public messaging reflects trauma-informed principles and amplifies the voices and experiences of survivors and communities.
- Support organizational communications and storytelling to strengthen culture and alignment with mission and values.
Organizational Strategy and Leadership
- Work closely with program staff to understand impact and communicate success stories.
- Participate in organizational planning, budgeting and strategy development.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience (3–5 years) in nonprofit development and/or communications, with success in donor cultivation, grant writing, and campaign execution.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent writing, public speaking, and the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and ability to build relationships with donors, partners, and colleagues.
- Proficiency with tools such as donor databases (e.g., Network for Good), email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed practices, equity, and survivor-centered work in a mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of issues related to gender-based violence, healing justice,
- Proficiency in a second language and experience working with different
Compensation and Benefits
- Ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications

Additional Requirements
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend hours to support on-call coverage, client needs, or special events
- Complete 40 hours of “Foundations of Advocacy” training through NHCADSV in accordance with NH RSA 173C
