About the Organization

Family Promise of Greater Concord is an affiliate of the national Family Promise organization, an interfaith nonprofit organization started in Union County, NJ, committed to helping homeless families nationwide achieve lasting independence. We opened our doors in Concord in the fall of 2015, partnering with the local community, social service agencies, and a large network of amazing faith-diverse volunteers from local surrounding places of worship. Together, we provide shelter, meals, hospitality, and professional wraparound case-management staff to address families' immediate needs and help them move into stable housing. 

About the Job

Description

Position Status: part-time (20 hours), Hourly, Non-exempt

  • Develop and implement effective organizational communication strategies
  • Manage timely internal communications (newsletters, thank you notes, etc.)
  • Manage Network for Good donor database and have an understanding of Excel
  • Help market the FPGC brand by creating content and managing social media
  • Plan and organize initiatives and events with the Executive Director
  • Update development/marketing materials
  • Work with the FPGC Development Committee on select fundraising events and attend one development meeting a month
  • Attend volunteer coordinator meetings (held every other month in the evening) and take minutes
  • Attend and facilitate occasional volunteer trainings for congregation host sites
  • Explore other organizations and companies to partner with for family activities and events.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Other tasks as needed

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid understanding of social media
  • Proficient computer skills – working knowledge of MS Office
  • Photo/video-editing software is an asset
  • Comfortable with Network For Good database or the ability to learn
  • Excellent written, oral, organization, and communication skills are a must
  • Event development and coordination a plus
  • Experience working with families in challenging situations is a plus
  • Knowledge of Merrimack County is preferred, but not essential
  • Maintain strong, healthy boundaries in an empathetic way
  • Must be flexible and a team player
  • Able Multitask and prioritize
  • Be self-directed/self-starter and work reliably without day-to-day on-site supervision
  • Motivation to take on additional community involvement projects and solve problems
