About the Job
Operation Delta Dog is seeking a Communications & Development Coordinator to
join our growing team in our Hollis, NH office!
The Communications & Development Coordinator is a key support role within our small
and dynamic team, focusing on community engagement, organizational promotion,
successful events and donor appreciation. This role requires an organized, creative and
resourceful individual who excels at supporting senior staff and public facing
interaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of juggling
multiple priorities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with an innovative,
community-based non-profit making an impact on the lives of veterans struggling with
mental health and the dogs who become their life-saving companions.
This position reports to the Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications
● Build a year-long multi-channel communications calendar supporting organizational
goals (in collaboration with the mutiple staff);
● Initiate/coordinate organizational media opportunities, including ED interviews;
● Conduct regular interviews with program participants and other stakeholders to craft
compelling impact stories through text, photos and video;
● Create graphics for the website, campaigns, events and social media posts;
● Draft bi-weekly eNews and dedicated emails promoting appeals and events;
● Create and solicit media sponsorships and cross promotion opportunities;
● Develop relationships with regional media (print/radio/TV/streaming);
● Create and disseminate press releases and PSA's to regional media;
● Engage the OPDD community with daily social media posts (FB/Instagram/X/LinkedIn);
● Manage the ordering and tracking of OPDD branded merchandise;
● Regularly collaborate with program staff to stay abreast of program activities;
● Regularly update communications content library;
● Support website and other public facing platform updates.
Development
● Collaborate with DD on the annual fundraising appeal, impact report and other
development materials;
● Support the planning/execution of fundraising campaigns, including sponsorship
outreach and direct mailings;
● Create donor lists for campaigns, events, and communications;
● Assist in managing low and mid-level donor communications, including donation and
grant acknowledgements;
● Assist with donation entry and data clean up/maintenance;
● Coordinate and track in-kind donations;
● Assist with other development related tasks as needed, including requests, reports and
follow ups with funders.
Event Support
Four Annual Fundraising Events:
● Create digital and printed event-related collateral, including programs, sponsor packets
and banners/signage;
● Create/Manage event related promotion, including Sponsor promotion;
● Manage event volunteers (planning stage + day of).
Community Outreach Events
● Reach out to community partners to plan and coordinate events;
● Provide hands-on planning and running of events;
● Represent OPDD and/or coordinate volunteers to represent organization;
● Disseminate pre/post event related promotion, including capturing photos/videos;
● Manage an intern/volunteer dedicated to outreach events.
Administrative
● Answer phones and field email inquires;
● Maintain Website
● Maintain event materials and merchandise for distribution
● Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Non-profit experience
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Experience with donation databases, MSOffice 365 and Google apps (Gmail, Google
Drive/Calendar/Meet/Forms)
● Experience with graphic design platforms, such as Canva and email platforms, such as
ConstantContact
● Experience with creating/updating website content (familiarity with a CMS a plus)
● Strong interpersonal skills with a wide spectrum of individuals especially public-facing
● Proactive, with the capacity to follow through, meet deadlines and prioritize multiple
tasks with minimal supervision;
● Collaborative and flexible team player with exceptional organizational skills
● Passion for animal welfare and/or veteran mental health
● Sensitivity regarding mental health issues
● Comfort working in an active office environment with onsite kennel
This is a 35 hour per week position with the opportunity to grow that offers 12 paid
holidays, vacation and sick time. Health insurance is available. Weekend and evening
work will be required periodically for events.

ABOUT OPERATION DELTA DOG
