About the Job

Description

At Greater Seacoast Community Health, our mission is to deliver innovative, compassionate, integrated health services and support that are accessible to all in our community, regardless of ability to pay.

Come to work every day knowing your efforts make other people’s lives better. You’ll be part of a supportive, dynamic, multidisciplinary team – including medical, dental and behavioral health care providers, social workers, family workers and others – working together to meet the needs of the whole person. Your days will be busy, varied and interesting. And you’ll have opportunities for career growth: Many employees take on new challenges and increasingly responsible positions during their years with us.

As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will be part of an integrated care team with the mission to provide care for the whole person. In this critical role, you will conduct mental health assessments, provide individual and group treatment, crisis intervention, and engage in Warm Welcomes. Being a Behavioral Health Specialist at Greater Seacoast Community Health means you will work with our primary care providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team to recognize and treat symptoms of mental health and substance misuse.  Although you will work collaboratively with other integrated team members, you will also have the opportunity to work independently providing support to an individual case load.  If you are not yet licensed, we are interested in your professional growth and will provide supervision toward your clinical licensure. We offer a flexible schedule and opportunities to combine remote and on site work. Greater Seacoast Community Health is currently seeking a BHS to work 24 hours per week at Goodwin Community Health, one of our two network locations in Southeastern New Hampshire. Goodwin Community Health is located in Somersworth, NH.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy
  • License: License not required. If licensed, must be licensed by the NH Board of Mental Health (LICSW, LCMHC).
  • Approved for licensure by the NH Board of Mental Health (for mental health candidates for licensure)
  • Approved for licensure by the NH Licensing Board for Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals for LADC candidates
  • Ability and interest in working with patients who range in age across the lifespan

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • ability to work harmoniously with coworkers and patients
  • experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations
  • excellent communication and listening skills
  • organizational skills
  • strong clinical and assessment skills
  • compassionate and nonjudgmental attitude
