About the Job
We are currently seeking a part-time, remote Administrative Assistant to join our New England-wide team.
Land For Good is a nationally recognized non-profit, with a mission to expand secure farmland access, tenure, and transfer. We offer one-on-one advising, connect stakeholders, and work to improve policies—always with farmers at the center. Whether we’re helping a retiring farmer plan their legacy or a new farmer establish roots, our goal is the same: to keep land in farming and build a future where farmers can thrive.
The Administrative Assistant plays a central role, responsible for coordinating key aspects of our programs and managing the systems that support them. This position reports to the Program and Development Manager, working closely with leadership staff and the full team.
Areas of responsibility
- Receive and respond to email and voice inquiries, route to other team members as appropriate.
- Data entry and maintenance of CRM database. Including assessment and adjustments of the database as needed, building and generating reports, mailing list generation, and data clean up.
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports. Create charts and tables to display evaluation data for reports and marketing.
- Support development and fundraising efforts, particularly data entry and mailings.
- Organize and maintain a virtual filing system.
- Manage, maintain, and support virtual office systems and vendor platforms, such as Google Suite, Asana, Zoom, phone system, etc.
- Research, advise, and plan/support implementation of new cloud-based applications and upgrades.
- Ensure effective and timely technical support services to staff, including training on internal systems, troubleshooting, and supporting new tech devices or software options.
- Schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and manage logistics for Board meetings, staff meetings, and other events.
- Provide data entry and administrative support as needed to the leadership team and Board.
- Other tasks and program activity coordination as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Experience and skills in providing program and administrative support, particularly to a remote team.
- Experience in database management.
- Solid understanding and experience with Google suite, Microsoft Office, and other platforms.
- Passionate and well-versed in online collaboration, cloud-based systems, and technology.
- Motivated and energized to find new, creative, and effective ways for internal and external collaboration and program support.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; good email etiquette.
- High attention to detail, and well organized.
- Self-directed; capable of developing and implementing a work plan.
- Passion for farming, food systems, environmental issues preferred.
Compensation: This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position. Hourly wage is $20-22/hour, depending on qualifications. Compensation includes paid time off and employer contributions to a SIMPLE IRA. We actively support professional development.
Location and schedule: This position is remote and requires a home office with a reliable internet connection. Candidates will be located in New England, able to commute at least monthly to Keene, NH and Greenfield, MA. Hours are primarily Monday to Friday, 9-5 with flexibility.
