About the Job

Description

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist in our Administrative office.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting the business office by compiling and maintaining accounts payable records, reconciling statements, and issuing payments to vendors on a daily basis. 

Responsibilities:

  • Process and prepare vouchers, invoices, and accounts payable checks while ensuring the accuracy of payment and appropriate authorization has been acquired.
  • Process authorized payments with a corporate credit card, organizing and coding related invoices.
  • Review and process travel expenses and petty cash reports from various sites while providing support to employees regarding payment and processing.
  • Compile, sort, and route documents such as invoices, purchase orders, W-9 forms, certificates of insurance, and checks to appropriate team members.
  • Maintain an accurate and accessible system of filing for all payable source documents and assist the Senior Staff Accountant with generating 1099 forms at year-end.
  • Reconcile unpaid accounts payable with vendor statements, and resolve disputes, discounts, or adjustments with vendors as needed.
  • Download electronic invoices on a pre-determined schedule in accordance with payment schedules, and convert invoices to electronic format as necessary.
  • Support business units by processing billings through corporate vendor partnerships.
  • Produce a vendor tracking system to ensure all appropriate invoices are accounted for each month's end to allow for appropriate accruals

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years, preferably 5 or more, experience with accounts payable in a high volume, multi-program/project environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is preferred.
  • Experience with accounting/accounts payable applications and Microsoft Office suite preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle or access to a reasonable alternative are preferred.
