Samuel P. Hunt Foundation Grants Dental Supplies to Families First

The Samuel P. Hunt Foundation has granted $6,000 to Families First Health & Support Center to upgrade dental equipment. Families First is a community health center providing primary, prenatal, behavioral and dental care; parent and family groups; one-on-one family support; and mobile health care.

N.H. Journalism Startup Gets A $50,000 Boost To Cover The North Country

A year-old journalism nonprofit has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the NH Charitable Foundation.  Former Union Leader reporter, Nancy West, has been running the watchdog journalism website www.InDepthNH.org for just over a year. www.InDepthNH.org is published by West’s nonprofit, The New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism, which until recently ran on a virtually nonexistent budget.

Holy Cross Family Learning Center Presented with $3,000 Grant

St. Mary’s Bank recently presented a $3,000 grant to the Holy Cross Family Learning Center (HCFLC) in Manchester. The grant will be used to support English as a Second Language classes for the refugees and people of diverse cultures who gather to study English, begin their path to citizenship, and develop workforce skills through hands-on training.

Bank of America Makes ‘Critical Needs’ Grant to Families First

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently granted $17,500 to Families First Health & Support Center. Awarded under the foundation’s “Basic Needs” funding priority, the grant will be used toward salaries of care coordinators, insurance enrollment assisters, and medication assistance program staff at the community health center.

Manchester Community Health Center Lands in Top 5% Nationally

Manchester Community Health Center (MCHC) recently received the highest total financial award granted to health centers in NH, placing it in the top 5% of awards granted nationally by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The awards were based on health centers’ improvements to the quality, accessibility and cost-efficiency of their healthcare, as well as for advancing health equity.
