Top Woman-Led Companies Survey

Business NH Magazine and The Commonwealth Institute are recognizing the top woman-led businesses and nonprofits in NH in the October issue. Companies and nonprofits will be ranked (in separate lists) under general headings by annual gross sales (i.e. $15 Million to $25 million in sales) but we do not print or disclose actual numbers. We will also recognize the fast-growing women-led companies. Surveys are due Aug. 13, 2013.

Hannah Grimes Center awarded first Champion in Action of 2013!

Under the category of strengthening communities, the Hannah Grimes Center received the first Champion in Action award of 2013, presented by Citizens Bank and WMUR-TV. The prize includes a $35,000 grant and numerous PSAs on WMUR amounting to thousands of dollars in advertising hours.

Lori Real Honored with National Henry Fiumelli Patient Advocate Award

Bow – The National Association of Community Health Centers announced today that Lori H. Real, MHA, chief operating officer of Bi-State Primary Care Association, will be awarded the Henry Fiumelli Patient Advocate Award at its national conference in Charleston, SC, this month. The award recognizes an outstanding staff member, among 54 primary care associations nationwide, whose work has improved access to quality primary care for vulnerable populations in their state(s).

The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire Wins Coveted Museum Innovation Award

Arlington, MA – The New England Museum Association (NEMA) today announced that the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire has won the organization’s 2012 Leaders in Innovation Award. The award was for the museum’s acclaimed “Alzheimer’s Café” program, which welcomes multiple generations of families living with Alzheimer’s disease and forms of dementia, along with their care partners, into the museum on a monthly basis free of charge.

Concord - At its 99th Annual Dinner, Lifetime Achievement and New Hampshire Advantage Awards Celebration to be held Oct. 24 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel/Center of New Hampshire in Manchester, the Business and Industry Association will recognize and honor the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits with the 2012 New Hampshire Advantage Award.

Mt. Washington Observatory Earns $20,000 Grant in Chase Community Giving Contest

North Conway - Local nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory was among the 30,000 charities from across the country nominated to participate in the 2012 Chase Community Giving contest. The philanthropy program asked the public to vote for their favorite charities, awarding a total of $5 million in grants to the top 196 vote-getters. At the end of the contest Mount Washington Observatory landed in 55th place with a total of 3,250 votes, earning the nonprofit a $20,000 grant.
