Leadership Training & Development

The New Hampshire Alliance for Public Charter Schools (NHAPCS ) is a non-profit membership organization committed to professional development for leaders of New Hampshire Charter Schools and support of the NH Charter School model. The Alliance offers NH charter school leaders access to a community of colleagues and related leadership resources to assist us in addressing the complex issues and challenges we face. The Alliance is led by a Board of active and engaged charter school leaders and supporters.

We are Mission Driven

Motivated by our core belief in the power of innovative public education, the NH Alliance for Public Charter Schools calls upon over a decade of experience creating, operating, and supporting NH charter schools and offers peer support, models for best practice and for sustainable leadership, and boosts the public’s understanding through the sharing of non-partisan information and advocacy.

We are Led by & Created for Charter School Leaders

Our volunteer Governing Board of Directors consists of charter school founders and administrators each with 13 or more years of experience and an Executive Director with over 7 years of experience in the NH charter world. You can find a list of Board members here: Our organization brings together established and new charter school leaders who work collaboratively to share their expertise and professional knowledge.

We are an experienced, membership-based, professional organization working in support of NH’s Public Charter Schools.
NHAPCS is recognized by state and national charter school leaders as New Hampshire’s nonprofit Charter Support Organization (CSO).

  • We offer peer-to-peer support for Charter School Administrators and Boards.
  • We work with experts in the field and host discussions and workshops for members
  • We advocate for the NH Charter Community by:
    • Communicating with one voice to the NH Department of Education and the State Legislature about our concerns and needs.
    • Keeping our members informed on pending legislation, news, and media pieces that could positively or negatively impact our work.
    • Sharing the important work being done by member schools with the public and media.

We Take Action in Support of Innovative Public Education

NHAPCS works for positive improvements to the NH charter school model to ensure programmatic long-term sustainability of our innovative charter schools in the following ways:

  • We promote and defend student access to high-quality, public charter schools in New Hampshire;
  • We support positive improvements to charter school policies and laws;
  • We educate state and national leaders on the benefits of our innovative public schools.

To accomplish this work, we regularly partner with other local and national organizations. Those groups include, but are not limited to: The National Alliance for Public Charter SchoolsThe National Charter School Resource CenterThe Center for Learner Equity (formerly National Center for Special Education in Charter Schools), The National Association of Charter School AuthorizersThe New Hampshire Department of Education.
