New Hampshire Children's Trust (NHCT) is the Governor-designated statewide child abuse prevention agency, the New Hampshire Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, and a member of the National Alliance of Children's Trust and Prevention Funds. The mission of New Hampshire Children's Trust (NHCT) is to lead the drive to strengthen families and communities, through education, advocacy, and collaboration, to prevent child abuse and neglect.
About the Job
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the organization's achievement of its mission, strategic plan, and financial advancement. The ED provides visionary leadership, ensures operational excellence, and oversees staff and collaborative partnerships.
3 days in Concord office, 2 days remote.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Oversee the strategic plan implementation through daily operations.
- Ensure high-quality program delivery aligned with organizational goals.
- Recruit, manage, and evaluate a small team in a collaborative work environment. Maintain a culture that attracts, retains, and motivates a highly qualified staff.
- Collaborate with the board of directors and staff to define and execute strategic goals and initiatives with the existing financial resources.
- Monitor key performance indicators to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Promote active and broad participation by volunteers and community partners in all areas of the organization’s work.
- Lead with vision to ensure growth and sustainability of the organization.
Resources Development
- In collaboration with the staff and board, cultivate major donors, foundations, government entities and corporate sponsors to secure resources to fulfill the mission and strategic plan.
- Develop compelling grant proposals and fundraising campaigns.
Financial Management
- Oversee the financial stability of the organization.
- Ensure that resources are managed wisely.
- In collaboration with the staff and board, develop and monitor budgets.
- Provide financial reports to Board on a regular basis and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Collaborate with Finance Committee to develop and manage the annual budget.
Governance
- Serve as the primary liaison to the board; support recruitment, onboarding, and governance best practices.
- Provide regular detailed updates to Board on strategic plan implementation and fiscal accountability.
Professional Skills and Experience
- Passionate about the vision and mission of the organization
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Advanced degree preferred
- 5 or more years of senior management experience
- Excellent internal and external communication skills
- Ability to be the public face of the organization; interface and engage diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to motivate, manage and cultivate a strong staff
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Skills: Few physical demands are required to perform the work. Work effort principally involves sitting to perform work tasks, with intermittent periods of stooping, walking, and standing. Work may require some agility and physical strength, such as standing or walking most of the work period. May also be some occasional lifting of objects such as office equipment and computer paper (up to 30 lbs.).
Motor Skills: Duties are largely mental rather than physical, but the job may occasionally require minimal motor skills for activities such as moving objects, operating a telephone, personal computer and/or most other office equipment including word processing, filing, and sorting of papers.
Visual Cognitive Skills: Visual demands require constantly reading documents for general understanding and analytical purposes.
