Arts Alive!

Incorporated in 2009, Arts Alive!'s official mission is to enhance quality of life by advancing arts and culture in the Monadnock region. We envision our region will have a flourising cultural community that values arts and culture and provides community support to facilitate success. We are accomplishing this by:

  • Building business acumen in the Arts community through offering training, mentoring, networking opportunities, peer to peer support, and fiscal sponsorship
  • Advocating to businesses and towns for partnerships with the arts to enhance the creative economy
  • Growing the market for the arts by identifying, sharing, facilitating and promoting cooperative promotional strategies
  • Maintaining a small and sustainable financial model that draws as little as possible from resources that other arts organizations rely upon

Arts Alive! has had some great "wins" in the past few years, including:

  • Hosting New England Foundation for the Arts's Creative Communities Exchange conference in 2015
  • Partnering with the Keene Sentinel for the Ewing Arts Awards, annually recognizing excellence in the arts in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire
  • Supporting start-up nonprofits with fiscal sponsorship. For example Monadnock ArtXTech, a makerspace in Peterborough; Monadnock International Film Festival; Friends of Public Art; ConVal Visual and Performing Arts Center; and the Monadnock Choral Arts Alliance.
  • Building and managing Discover Monadnock ( a cultural tourism and community resource hilighting the cultural assets of the Monadnock region
  • Developing the Creativity Toolkit for businesses
  • Developing and Facilitating a buisiness skills and networking program for independent artists in partnership with the Hannah Grimes Center
