Tapply-Thompson Community Center

Some 65 years ago a dream became a reality and the Tapply-Thompson Community Center (formerly Bristol Community Center) was born.  It has been enjoyed by thousands of people in the Newfound Lake region ever since.  The Center was built on the philosophy that , "If one adult life is influenced for the good, it is money well spent."  It is overseen by a Recreation Advisory Council with representation from the eight participating towns and other local organizations.

Our mission is to provide a thorough recreation program, which strives to meet the needs of the participating communities.  We endeavor to offer programs and to develop and maintain facilities which meet these needs with cooperation of all local organizations, schools, and the municipalities to avoid duplication of services.  The TTCC is one of only a few not-for-profit, non-municipal Recreation Departments in the State.

The TTCC is making a positive difference in the lives of families within the Newfound Region.  We recognize that a Recreation Department must go beyond simply providing a place that keeps kids safe and off of the streets.  The TTCC has been designed to help youth develop life skills, spirituality, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to grow into productive adults.

The TTCC has been recognized by the New Hampshire Recreation & Parks Association twice in the past few years for excellence in programming with our 'Biggest Loser' weight loss program and our 'Westward Bound Teen Expedition'.
