Hannah Grimes Center

The Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides the space, tools, and connections that innovative entrepreneurs need to build strong businesses, thriving local economies, and vibrant communities in the Monadnock Region. The success of entrepreneurs in the region fulfills the Hannah Grimes Center’s broader vision of a sustainable, thriving, local economy and vibrant community, built upon the region’s heritage, culture, natural resources, and the civic-minded entrepreneurial spirit of its people. The Center educates, supports, and assists in the successful development of entrepreneurs through the incubator program, workshops, Startup Lab, networking events, pro bono 1:1 Coaching, and more.

Incubator Program: Since 2006, 89% of the businesses that have participated in the Incubator Program are still in business. Our incubator has a proven model that accelerates the growth and viability of companies by providing affordable access to professional programs and resources, including business plan development, growth planning, goal setting, and overcoming common obstacles to success. Whether you need help with your finances, operations, or simply staying on track, we’re here to help. Our incubator is a place where you can leverage your energy in a supportive environment to propel your business forward.

Startup Lab: Startup Lab is an interactive program of seven classes held over eight weeks, designed to help you create, implement, and present a business plan. In the program, we cover marketing, financial, business planning, and organizational development to ensure that you have the tools you need to successful! Startup Lab ends with a presentation to Hannah Grimes Center instructors, community members, and other professionals in the area interested in learning about participating businesses. While nerve-wracking to some, it’s the perfect opportunity to launch your business and practice the evasive pitch!

Workshops: Hannah Grimes offers a diverse array of workshops, seminars, and educational programs designed to foster small business growth and increase entrepreneurial skills. Workshop topics include marketing, website development, social media, business planning, finance, accounting and bookkeeping, hiridng and supervising employees, legal business organization, time management, and more!

Pro Bono 1:1 Coaching: The Hannah Grimes Center offers pro bono coaching for business owners and nonprofit leaders to meet with business coaches and consultants who volunteer their time to assist growing organizations. The goal of 1:1 Coaching is to offer growing organizations an opportunity connect with a professional coach or consultant at no cost up to 3 times per topic. This helps you really dig in to a project with guidance and have check-ins along the way. It’s also an opportunity for you to meet experienced professionals in the business community and learn from their mistakes!

The Radically Rural Summit: In 2018, the Hannah Grimes Center partnered with the Keene Sentinel to present the annual Radically Rural Summit – a two-day national summit for shaping and sharing ideas that support vibrant rural communities. In its first year, Radically Rural attracted over 500 thinkers and doers from 21 states and offered 15 sessions across 5 engaging program tracks: Entrepreneurship, Community Journalism, Main Street, Arts and Culture, and Working Lands. The Radically Rural Summit includes CONNECT, an annual gathering of hundreds of engaged, locally focused community members celebrating and fostering the advantages and opportunities of rural living.
