Kingswood Youth Center

The Kingswood Youth Center (KYC) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization governed by a board of directors.  The mission of the Kingswood Youth Center is to provide a safe and positive environment in which youth may grow, learn and develop life skills critical to their success in the adult world. The KYC does this by providing a variety of programs for youth, ages 12 to 18, in the Governor Wentworth School District of New Hampshire. KYC programs include a daily afterschool program, BTAS! (beyond the afterschool) programs offered on evenings, weekends, and vacations, a full schedule of summer programs, and an individual mentoring program titled, Club 121. All services are free of charge.  A hot meal is served along with a variety of recreational and enrichment activities at the 3000 square foot facility that sits on five acres of land in Wolfeboro.  KYC programs offer experiential learning, community interaction, leadership, recreation, and fun!  KYC collaborates with other agencies to provide members with additional resources when needed.  KYC is recognized as an integral part of the community and receives annual support from the schools and the towns in the district. Most of the youth attending the KYC reside at or below the poverty level and are facing challenging life circumstances.

The Kingswood Youth Center purchased a property in 2008 and erected a brand new 3,000 square foot facility that opened in October 2009. In October 2019, the KYC celebrated 10 years in this beautiful new facility. May 2020 marks the 20-year anniversary of the KYC's services to local youth. Between 2016 and 2019, the KYC added the following services in addition to the long-standing afterschool program: BTAS! (beyond the after school) programs offered on weekends, evenings, and school vacations; a full schedule of summer programs; one-to-one adult mentor to youth mentee mentoring services offered at Kingswood Regional Middle School through the KYC's Club 121 Individual mentoring program.
