Wentworth Watershed Association

The Wentworth Watershed Association is made up of residents and landowners in the Lake Wentworth-Crescent Lake watershed as well as others who want to encourage the protection and preservation of the watershed’s lakes, streams, and critical habitats.

The mission of the Association is to protect and preserve the community, natural resources, water quality and scenic beauty of the Lake Wentworth-Crescent Lake watershed, as well as to promote knowledge of the enduring character of its woodlands, waterways and wildlife, its people and its history.

The Association collaborates with local and state agencies in the collection and use of scientific data to support planning and implementation of stormwater mitigation efforts. As part of a broad commitment to outreach and education, the Association publishes and distributes information for use by residents and landowners to assist with shoreline buffering, stormwater management, and septic system maintenance.

Presently the Association owns and manages 10 parcels of of environmentally important land totaling more than 175 acres, and the Board of Trustees is committed to acquiring and preserving additional sensitive parcels as circumstances permit.
