Fifty-three years strong, Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. Over 200 boys are served annually with a transformative summer experience and school-year mentoring. It is tuition-free for the boys and the staff are dedicated to providing them with vibrant support.
Matching the boys with an ever more responsive and meaningful program requires a true and total team effort by the staff, the Board and Mayhew’s family of contributors and friends.
With an annual budget of $1.42 million, over 70% comes from charitable contributions, Mayhew has built an endowment of over $5.7 million and has recently completed a $630,000 capital improvements campaign.
In order to take its next steps as an ever-better support for the boys, Mayhew seeks an experienced leader, a real listener, a guide and doer to step up as its first Operations Director. This individual knows Mayhew’s success for the boys depends on a well-coordinated, excellent team effort. And the success of the team depends on each person excelling at their responsibilities, seeing their contributions to the whole and having a “How can I help?” mindset and approach. The Operations Director knows this doesn’t just happen. It requires work, unending role modeling, a creative intelligence, humility, dogged persistence and understanding in the face of challenge.
Requirements:

Candidate Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree, such as Master of Business Administration, is preferred.
Leadership, management and team-building expertise, minimum 3 years.
Business operations management and project management. minimum 3 years.
Financial and operational management experience, including fund and grant accounting; compliance and reporting; contract negotiating across multiple programs, minimum 3 years.
Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks proficiency, and/or experience working with other accounting and/or payroll software.
Nonprofit experience, preferred.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute Mayhew’s financial management strategy, planning and accounting function; ensure excellence in accounting, finance, forecasting, contract negotiations, banking relationships, partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.
Oversee the Information Technology function by directing technology planning and utilization, including integration of information systems, voice and data networks and telecommunications. Align and prioritize IT goals and projects. Ensure a secure and quality IT infrastructure for the effective delivery of IT services across the organization.
In partnership with the Executive Director and Development Director, oversee Mayhew’s public facing communications, including publications, e-communications, videos, maintaining data integrity and structure of the website and organizing volunteers.
Oversee property management functions, including asset and lease management, predictive and preventive maintenance, inventory management, capital improvement projects, procurement, regulatory compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
Develop, recommend, implement and evaluate operational policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility. Ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable local, federal and state regulations and laws governing business operations.
Attend Board and Committee meetings as assigned, and prepare and present reports as required.
