Part Time Program Manager – Impact Monadnock

Monadnock United Way is seeking a part-time, 20-hour per week, program manager for Impact Monadnock, our signature collective impact initiative. IM focuses on preparing children age 0-8 for academic, career, and life success. Successful candidates have a track record in community-building and possess strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to relate to a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner.

Bachelor’s degree plus 3 to 5 years’ work experience in early education, social services, health or other related fields. Community and/or collective impact knowledge is a plus.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years’ work experience in education, social services, health or other related fields.  
  • Advanced degree and/or and advanced level of expertise in IM’s EC project areas is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills are required, with an ability to relate to a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving timely results.
  • Community impact and technical support experience.
  • Experience working in multi-sector collaborations both leading and providing technical support.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Grant writing and monitoring experience a plus.
Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The IM Program Manager leads projects of Impact Monadnock (IM), Monadnock United Way’s (MUW’s) signature early childhood impact initiative.  Using collective impact methodologies, the Program Manager leads groups of community partners and volunteers to develop strategies and implement actions that achieve measurable and lasting change in community conditions related to early childhood. Our vision is that all children in the Monadnock Region and their families are healthy, learning and thriving.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager reports to the President and collaborates closely with MUW staff.  The Manager will:

  • Manage specific initiatives in the IM Master Plan through hands-on field work with IM Project Teams consisting of volunteers and professionals across multiple sectors. Projects are determined by the President and include but are not limited to:
    • Impact Monadnock Business Ambassadors
    • Hinsdale ACERT
    • Early Childhood Expansion Project
  • Liaise with MUW-funded IM programs such as Pyramid Model, the Monadnock Alliance for Families, early childhood centers and Head Start Dental Program.
  • Work in close partnership and collaboration with the Early Childhood Region 1 Systems Manager to ensure cohesion with this important Impact Monadnock Initiative.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all project teams.
  • Work in collaboration with the MUW staff and evaluation consultants to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Impact Monadnock project teams.
  • Represent IM at local, regional and statewide early childhood initiatives including:
    • Early Learning NH
    • RECC Alliance
    • Connected Families NH
    • MFCC
    • Healthy Monadnock Food Access workgroup
  • Develop collaborative relationships with local, regional and state leaders and other external stakeholders such as Council for Thriving Children, Endowment for Health, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and other early childhood impact efforts in the region and state.
  • Implement marketing activities for IM such as produce a quarterly newsletter, website content, social media and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate marketing activities with MUW to ensure that messaging is shared between both IM and MUW
  • Identify grant sources and participate in the planning, writing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating of grant-funded projects; write required reports to funders.
  • Report regularly to the Impact and Evaluation Committee, the Monadnock United Way Board, and the community.
