Krempels Center’s services are not funded through a traditional insurance model.  Thus, success is not measured by productivity, but by evidence-based interventions, program outcomes, and solicited feedback from our clients—who we call members.  Member self-determination, the ability to address members’ real-life needs over time and in a non-medical milieu, and a welcoming and supportive community, are hallmarks of our program.

Director of Communications and Outreach – Primarily Remote/Office

Part-time (30 hours/week)

Position Overview:

The Director of Communications and Outreach will guide the strategy, development and implementation of all marketing, communication and outreach initiatives to build awareness and understanding of the organization’s vision, mission, and services across a diverse constituent base. Reporting to the Executive Director, this leadership role will serve as a trusted subject matter expert and be best filled by a candidate well-prepared to build and implement a robust marketing and communications plan at an emerging nonprofit positioned for growth.

Requirements:

Education & Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field, and/or relevant experience equal or greater to years of education.
  • 5+ years of marketing, fundraising and/or membership development experience in a non-profit setting required.

Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Excellent written communication skills, with attention to grammar, editing, and compelling prose.
  • Strong listening skills, with an effective ability to tell the stories of others.
  • Thoughtful interpersonal/collaboration skills.
  • Cooperative, flexible work style.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven self-management/initiative.
  • Demonstrated social media and online design skills (e.g., Canva, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Photoshop).
  • Skilled in using CRM software, website management system and email marketing platform.
  • Microsoft 365 suite proficiency.
  • Project management acumen.
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work in a busy work environment.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work offsite majority of the time.
  • Able to lift/maneuver up to 20 pounds on occasion, and at varying heights. 
  • Some nights / weekend work required.
  • Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance.
Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Executive Director in all areas of marketing, outreach and public relations.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual marketing and communications plan that supports efforts to increase Krempels Center’s visibility and foster relationships with donors and supporters, in collaboration with the senior management team.
  • Cultivate and steward membership referrals to Krempels Center’s program, ensuring annual target goals achieved, in collaboration with senior management team.
  • Responsible for management of social media and other marketing initiatives including content creation, collateral creation, email campaign coordination and internal employee communication.
  • Responsible for website content management and analytics.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of all marketing activities.
  • Assist with planning, coordination and execution of internal and external events; including fundraising, member and community engagement events.
  • Ensure Krempels Center favorable and positive reputation amongst its members, donors and the communities it serves.
  • Works with and manages vendors in support of marketing related projects.
  • Prepare press releases, coordinate press photos, and foster all media relations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
