Position Summary:

Monadnock United Way’s Impact Monadnock initiative (IM) has been awarded a grant to expand and support partnerships among schools, child care, early education programs, family support agencies, and families themselves in a region spanning Monadnock, Sullivan County and the Upper Valley. As one of seven regions across the state, the Project Manager will coordinate and inspire a regional approach among all parties that meets the needs of young children (birth to age 8) and their families, elevates the voices of caregivers and increases equity of access to early childhood services.

As a public-facing facilitator and collaborator, the Project Manager will lead the community at all levels in developing and maintaining an Early Childhood regional infrastructure for young children and their families across the 61 towns in Region 1. In addition to inspiring regional stakeholders and families, the Project Manager will collaborate and communicate with State partners and serve as a liaison between regional stakeholders, leadership in the other regions, and the NH Departments of Health & Human Services and Education. Internally, the Project Manager will coordinate, communicate and collaborate with Region 1 Co-directors, MUW President, and other project consultants and MUW staff as needed.

This full-time grant-funded position runs through December 2022 with plans to extend the initiative and position beyond the funding window.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, early education, human services or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader, supervisor, and/or project manager
  • Well-developed communication skills, including oral, print, virtual, and/or social media
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to network with various stakeholders, such as funders, family supports agencies, schools, and early childhood care and education programs
  • Demonstrated capacity for facilitating coalition building efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, create and follow action plans, manage project deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work and function with confidential information and data.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education, early education, human services or related field
  • 5 years (or more) demonstrated experience as a professional working with young children or families
  • Familiarity with supports and services for young children and families in New Hampshire (including schools, early care and education, and family supports)
  • Knowledge of Collective Impact model and strategies
  • Experience with grants (e.g. writing, monitoring)

Able to lift up to 30 pounds.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The EC Region 1 Project Manager reports to the MUW President and collaborates with the EC Region 1 co-directors and project consultant . A Project Assistant will be available part-time to assist the Project Manager in scheduling, communication, and other logistical tasks.

Regional Lead Oversight:

Serve as the leader and point person for the EC Region 1 System
Develop systems to evaluate, maintain, and sustain the Region 1 System infrastructure
Support communication and feedback loops within the region and across the state

Meeting Responsibilities:

  • Preparation for and facilitation of monthly Leadership Team meetings and quarterly Accountability Team meetings
  • Communicate actively with representatives of Work Groups
  • Coordinate with Project Implementation team(s) as appropriate
  • Attend professional development workshops/training as assigned
  • Attend and report on monthly Community of Practice meetings, and other statewide meetings as appropriate
  • Attend and report on Technical Assistance sessions associated with the grant, as assigned
  • Update Action Plan with Co-directors, MUW President
  • Meet with co-directors, weekly at the outset, then bi-weekly as project continues
  • Meet with MUW President as needed, schedule to be determined as project unfolds


Oversee Project Assistant in scheduling, communication, and reporting on meetings


  • Create regular regional communication system and content, in collaboration with MUW staff
  • Manage region wide communication efforts, bringing together existing groups and expanding networks
  • Manage social media platforms for region wide communication

Grant Responsibilities:

  • Attend and report on TA associated with the grant
  • Meet grant reporting requirements and deadlines
  • Complete timely invoicing for grant funds

Other duties as required.
