Program Assistant

Krempels Center

This position is temporarily designated as primarily work from home,” but will be fully Center-based as pandemic safety concerns diminish


Community Campus, Portsmouth, NH

The Program Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the daily program.  This is a part-time (30 hours per week) position, working Mon-Wed. and Fridays. The Program Assistant supports and works with a strongly collaborative, professional program team, in a busy and dynamic environment, and is responsible for both short and long-term tasks and projects. 


Program Duties & Responsibilities: 


  • Provides daily programming assistance, such as materials, meeting space, and technical needs.  
  • Maintains community collaborations in support of members’ community integration.  
  • First responder to problem solve equipment/technology issues during the program day.   
  • General administrative support, such as managing cash accounts and keeping meeting minutes. 



  • Responds to/addresses the needs of program phone calls.  
  • Assists with communications to interns/volunteers, members, family members, referral sources, and others to ensure the smooth execution of programs and services.  
  • Supports social media efforts.  


Data and Information Management 

  • Maintains an organized and up to date system for program electronic and paper documents/files. 
  • Keeps databases up to date to meet day to day program needs. 
  • Maintains up to date member and intern electronic files.  
  • Produces reports regarding program data and information. 

Education & Related Work Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum of one year administrative experience, preferably 2+ years 
  • Comprehensive, basic technical and technological acumen. 
  • Competent with Microsoft Office products; skills/experience with a variety of technology tools and platforms preferred.  Office 365, Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Proficient communication skills—interpersonal, verbal, and written. 
  • Warm, professional, collaborative, and flexible in nature. 
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and problem solving skills. 
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work in a busy work environment. 

Work Environment / Physical Requirements: 

  • Routine office environment.  
  • Able to lift/maneuver up to 20 pounds on occasion, and at varying heights.  
  • Occasional night / weekend work required. 
  • Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance.

Salary Range:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
