Program Manager

SHARE Outreach

SHARE Outreach is a well respected, community non-profit organization that provides emergency and ongoing support to individuals and families in need of basic necessities. SHARE provides food, clothing, and emergency financial assistance to area families in need who do not qualify for government assistance or for whom that assistance is insufficient or delayed in coming. SHARE also offers support to families and individuals looking to become more self reliant, including support for stable housing, employment, and education, as well as referrals and connections to other agencies.

SHARE Outreach is looking for the right candidate interested in all aspects of a nonprofit, working as part of a small team serving those who are struggling to meet their basic needs. The Program Manager will be responsible for working with volunteers, donors, clients, and the general public. The successful candidate will enjoy working directly with clients to assess their needs, make referrals, and more. The Program Manager will also be willing and able to learn the administrative aspects of a nonprofit including donor and client data management, financial management, fundraising, governance, and more. Technology-savvy a must! The only successful candidate will be one who believes, as the SHARE team does, that all people are to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years of related work experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, preferably in a human or social services environment
  • Ability to work independently and in successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with clients, community partners, donors, other staff, volunteers, and the general public
  • Familiarity with the needs of low-income populations is preferred
  • Knowledge of entitlements, homelessness, hunger and food insecurity issues is a plus
  • Individual must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite; some knowledge of QuickBooks and data base experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license required


  • Train, schedule, and supervise volunteers
  • Maintain procedure manuals for each of the programs
  • Participate in program evaluation process
  • Maintain volunteer manual
  • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to maintain and enhance comprehensive volunteer program: recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling system, database, appreciation, evaluation

Intake and Referral/Data Management

  • Responsible for client intake process and review of application for services
  • Provide backup coverage for financial assistance program
  • Maintain client information in Apricot database


  • Assist Executive Director with financial processing and reporting
  • Assist Executive Director with donor management and donation input and acknowledgement.
