Finance & Business Director

Visions for Creative Housing Solutions

The mission of Visions for Creative Housing Solutions is to provide residential options, services and support designed to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities and similar disabling conditions. Visions for Creative Housing Solutions invites applications for a Finance & Business Director. In collaboration with the Executive Director, this full-time position manages finances, compliance, and business planning and operations. Qualified candidates will have a strong financial management or services background and proven ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously. Positivity, flexibility, and strong organizational skills are preferred.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in financial or business management, familiarity with Quickbooks or other financial management software, non-profit experience preferred. 

Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities

In-house Procedural Oversight:    

  1. Work with House Managers to assure that Visions is meeting state and area agency policies and documentation to assure certification and licensing. 

  2. Correspond and meet regularly with House Managers and Executive Director.

  3. Work closely with Nurse Trainer to assure compliance with 1201 regulations.

  4. Remain informed about and ensure compliance with regulations for low income supported housing.

  5. Manage the organization’s physical infrastructure and system maintenance (phone system, security, cleaning, and supplies), vehicle fleet, oversee property management.

 

Finance & Bookkeeping:

  1. Manage all aspects of day to day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll (in conjunction with Aris Solutions), monthly billing, journal entries, and bank reconciliation. 

  2. Prepare Journal Entries for prepaid expense, deferred revenue and payroll cash accounts 

  3. Ensure that all invoices are paid in a timely manner, working with Aris Solutions, under the guidance of the Executive Director. 

  4. Record and prepare deposit slips for all organizational revenue. 

  5. Assist the Executive Director with identifying vendors, requesting bids, and establishing contracts as needed for facility and office support services.

  6. Work with Aris to ensure that annual 1099 reporting for vendors is in compliance. 

  7.  Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including standard financial reports, budget vs. actual reports and grant-specific financial reports as requested for review by Board of Directors and Executive Director.

  8. Coordinate with Aris Solutions and Auditors in preparation of year-end audit. 

  9. Support Executive Director and Board Treasurer in development and analysis of annual budgets. 

  10. Collate financial reporting materials for project/program and grants accounting.

  11. Assist the Executive Director in planning and managing organizational cash flow and forecasting.

  12. Support the Executive Director and Board of Directors on all matters related to financial management, grant funds reporting, billing, and tracking.

  13. Assist the Executive Director and Treasurer in maintaining accounting procedures and policies and systems of internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial systems.

 

Area Agency Communication and Regulations

  1. Work with area agencies to ensure compliance status is current, and to ensure Visions is meeting area agency expectations and regulations.

  2. Understand and oversee compliance with area agencies for individual contracts and supports.

  3. Understanding of budgets and invoicing with area agencies.
