Bi-State Primary Care Association

Bi-State was founded in 1986 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan charitable organization with offices in Bow, NH and Montpelier, VT. The intent of this position is to be based in Bow, NH. Our Mission is to promote access to effective and affordable primary care and preventive services for all, with special emphasis on underserved populations in Vermont and New Hampshire. We support Community Health Centers to provide access to primary health care services including medical, oral, mental, and behavioral health care, treatment for substance use disorder, and community support services.  We work with federal, state, and regional health policy organizations and policymakers, foundations, and payers to develop strategies, policies, and programs that promote and sustain community-based, primary health care services. We provide advocacy, technical assistance, provider recruitment, education and training, and resource and information services.

Bi-State Primary Care Association seeks an energetic, self-starter to join our mission-driven team. The Accountant will perform duties related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger reconciliations and month end close, financial statement audit and 990 preparation, grants reporting, management and compliance, benefit administration, and updating and maintenance of human resources files.


Required skills include understanding of GAAP, ability to meet deadlines, attention to detail, the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and the ability to provide accurate, timely written reports together with a four (4) year college degree. Preferred experience includes: three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience in accounting/finance. Experience with grant accounting/reporting requirements and the Uniform Grant Guidance is a plus.
