Administrative Manager

Mayhew Program

The Mayhew Program challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. 

Mayhew provides boys with eight years of support through a residential summer program, school year mentoring, employment opportunities, and one-on-one goal planning to ensure they graduate from high school and establish a plan to lead successful lives. Mayhew is the only program in New Hampshire that provides this level of support on a tuition-free basis. 

Mayhew, a dynamic, successful, and award-winning organization serving at-risk New Hampshire boys, is seeking an Administrative Manager to lead and complete administrative responsibilities crucial to Mayhew’s ongoing success.

This position is full-time (35 hours/week), based in Bristol, NH and includes a generous benefit package (health insurance, life & disability insurance, vacation/holiday/sick time, retirement plan and professional development funds).  The position calls for an agile-thinking, upbeat, team-oriented individual and flexible scheduling for occasional evening, early morning and/or weekend events.

The Administrative Manager reports to the Executive Director.

  • Be team-oriented and exude warmth and professionalism in interacting with program families, fellow staff, trustees, contributors, volunteers and others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly become proficient in Little Green Light donor database and other software programs as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an excellent ability to organize, prioritize and complete work independently with little supervision.
  • Lead and complete administrative responsibilities crucial to all aspects of the organization (program, development, board, physical plant, etc.).  This includes: maintaining data records and staff/employment files, updating state, federal and other filings (Annual Report with state, youth camp license, etc.), start-to-finish facilitation of the summer food service program, completing timely and thorough financial transactions and record-keeping, managing the administrative aspects of the boy enrollment process and other program-related activities in addition to fundraising activities.
  • Work closely and well with all members of the Mayhew community (families, alumni, staff, trustees, contributors, volunteers).
  • Work closely and transparently with all external partners, including third-party vendors and consultants.
  • Oversee maintenance of office to ensure efficient and consistent operations (e.g. various inspections, trash pick-up, plowing, fuel oil, septic system, etc.).
  • Be an active and helpful force in the organizing, coordination and facilitation of various special events.
  • Take a leading role in the organizing and coordination of board and committee meetings and related materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
