Executive Directors:  I have been in your shoes recently and have served in your role for 5 years.  I understand that issues can be complicated and require consultants that have a wide breadth and depth of experience in all aspects of nonprofits.

Board members:  I have been in your shoes as well and have served on several boards, large and small with budgets from $50K to $140M. For the past 2.5 years I have been serving as the Vice Chairman of the board for a $140M nonprofit.  I understand that truly moving organizations forward require close collaboration between management and boards.

I have 15 years of consulting experience, 5 years of which was leading an up to 40 person consulting organization focusing solely on nonprofits and all aspects of capacity building. During that time I worked with nearly 150 nonprofits on numerous issues. Before becoming a consultant I worked for 19 years at some of the world’s most successful organizations where I rose quickly into management, planning, marketing and customer facing roles.

Additional accomplishments include:

-Regularly invited speaker on a variety of management topics including strategic planning at several annual NH Governor’s Conferences on Volunteerism and various US State Department and other venues

-Teaching /taught graduate level courses on topics including leadership, strategic planning, board governance, IT intelligence, business strategy and planning, and marketing

- 36 years of experience volunteering for nonprofits – currently volunteering for the NH Center for Nonprofits as a facilitator in their HIVE program (I also have close relationships with the NH Charitable Foundation.)

My approach focuses on listening to your needs and understanding your capacity (individual as well as organizational) and then collaborating regularly with you as we work together.
