Front Door Agency's Penny Picker Drive

Volunteers Needed

Presented by: Front Door Agency

Penny Pickers is the Front Door Agency's most unique fundraising event of the year. Volunteers in bright yellow aprons canvass neighborhoods in Greater Nashua for two weekends in the fall, collecting spare change to benefit families in need. Last year, nearly $39,000 was raised to support the Front Door's mission! But we can only achieve this success with the involvement of hundreds of people from the community.

The Front Door is currently registering volunteers in teams of two for 2 1/2 to 3 hour shifts. At least one person needs to be a driver and have a vehicle. Sign-ups are now taking place online for the following dates: October 19 & 20  and October 26 & 27, with several shifts to choose from on each day. This is a great opportunity for families and people of all ages, including students needing to earn community service hours. Volunteers are provided with neighborhood maps, informational materials, suggested scripting, and refreshments. All you need is your time, enthusiasm and willingness to help. To learn more or sign-up online, visit http://www.frontdooragency.org/events-page/penny-pickers. If you prefer, you may call Lucie at (603) 816-0322.

The mission of the Front Door is to offer support and provide services to assist individuals and families transition from crisis to self-sufficiency. We do this through our five core programs: Prevention & Intervention of Homelessness, Transitional Housing, Crisis Advocacy & Resource Education, Financial Literacy, and Mental Health Counseling. Last year, the Agency served 2,552 individuals in the Greater Nashua area.
